Disappointing Experience

We had a mini suite, and were pleased that we had that private place. The ship was crowded and noisy with hundreds of children on board. Many were school age. The families dominated the 2 infinity pools, which we never got to use. Towels were placed on sunbeds at 6.30 am, to reserve them. Whilst there is a policy that disallowed that practice, it was never enforced.Generally the food, service and entertainment were poor to just ok. Our overall impression is that P&O sell a cheap range of cruises, which is reflected in many of the passengers. Many staff members chat in their own language ignoring customer service. Cleanliness was also not up to standard. Our boarding was delayed by 3 hours for a deep clean, and yet when we got on board there were crumbs on the floor and ledges with dust on.We will not be sailing with P&O again

Great cruise to some very interesting places.

Was a great cruise. Couldn't fault it. We were very lucky with the weather considering it was a Baltic cruise.

Recommend adult only

The ship itself was lovely.Unfortunately the overall experience was not to our taste.Every mealtime has to pre-booked on join a line, with the exception of the buffet which was like a cattle market with children who should have been at school picking up food and putting it back (no wonder you get sickness on the ship)Again the entertainment has to be pre-booked and people we had spoken to booked the 710 club every night which made it virtually impossible to get in .Perhaps it would be an idea to restrict the booking of these smaller venues when you think there is over 5,000 people on the ship and only capacity for 100 people.Back to the children, we choose to go during term time to avoid the school agechildren, unfortunately the expectation of the children being at School was a mistake on our part as most parents prefer to pay a small fine and take the children to get a saving on the fares. One of the main problems was the use of the pools, as there is only one adult pool which was obviously full of people trying to avoid the children literally filling all the other pools meant no swimming could be done only standing room.Additionally even at 10.30 show in the club house the children were playing football and running back and forth in front of the stage on the dance floor whilst the band the pulse were trying to play. How rude but n o intervention from either the parents or the P&O staff.

For me the ship was too large, over crowded at all venues on sea days.. unable to find a sun bed as people put towels on multiple beds. Removing of towels from unoccupied beds was not enforced that I could see.Friendly crew work very hard. but not enough of them so you wait a long time to be servedPianist in crows nest was dreadful, should only play piano not sing.Choice of food and restaurants was very goodBiggest gripe no bath robes unless you are in a suite. Also I am forced to use wet towels if I shower more than once a day. Totally unacceptable. P&O standards have dropped to 3 star

Amazing Cruise

The Scandinavian and Baltic cruise has been the most amazing cruise so far! Britannia and her crew were wonderful. Im Coeliac and staff went above to make sure they met my medical needs. As for the ports, they were incredible!!! Each port had wonderful sights to see. Tallin and Visby took my breath away! The sea days were restful. We loved this cruise so much we will be doing it again in the future.

K412 Arvia

Arvia is a huge ship. Queues at peak times everywhere. Not enough staff in the bar areas either at peak times which in turn can leave long queues at the bar. Talking to a lot of the waiting staff they are demoralised by the lack of other colleagues. Those that are on board are working long hours to compensate, therefore the happy atmosphere amongst the staff is not there as in previous cruises and ships. Overall the boat is great for family's, however get up early to grab a lounger if the sun is out. Not much use of the 'yellow tags' on this cruise. ... and if you want to book The Retreat, book early.... selfish people did this before sailing and it was fully booked ....there was no space left to book once on board!!!Glass House, Beach House, Olive Grove have depleted their menu's considerably... certainly not the same. If you want a touch of class the afternoon tea in the Epicurean was great, as was the Keel & Cow steaks.... Ripples - Ice Cream afternoon tea.... 9 ice creams... plenty for two, £12.95, just had to pay for the extra tea! Headliners..... to be honest we didn't bother as we've seen all the shows several times. Use of the Holiday App was easy. Our only disappointment was not seeing La Voix... this was initially advertised all the way up until departure on the Limelight Club, however it transpired a few days in that it want going to happen... no reason given and we had seen then changes and the others before on Iona. To be honest we'll stick to the smaller ships unless Arvia is going somewhere we haven't been before.
