Overwatch Group, a UK-based end-to-end design and manufacture company specialising in advanced unmanned system and munitions technologies, are launching their unique drone technology into the US market at SOF 2024. At the event, they are showcasing their latest development to potential customers privately. Interested parties can request a meeting via the Overwatch website. Overwatch is a defence company that manufactures a pioneering coaxial drone and associated payload technology. Their payload agnostic, low weight, high effect drone weapon systems are man-portable providing protection through precision strike, thereby enabling operators to respond at pace to ever-evolving tactical requirements in the battlespace.Since 2022, the company has delivered around 800 of their unmanned aerial precision strike systems in support of the UK’s contribution to global defence and security. Earlier this year, Overwatch also participated in the US-hosted major army warfighting experiment in California; as part of Project Convergence Capstone 4 (PC-C4). The exercise, with over 600 British Army troops along with thousands from six other nations, was undertaken to bring multinational forces together to establish how to combine situational awareness and command and control. As part of PC-C4, Overwatch contributed to an integrated reconnaissance and precision strike demonstration at White Sands missile range. This will help commanders make the right decisions and deliver the best effects to win on future battlefields. Overwatch provided the precision strike capability through its loitering munitions which were integrated with higher altitude ISR assets and into the wider C2 system. #military #defense #defence #militaryleakhttps://lnkd.in/ghnyHSZp

The Boeing T-7A Red Hawk achieved three recent milestones, propelling the advanced pilot trainer for the U.S. Air Force forward. T-7A aircraft APT-3, one of five engineering and manufacturing development aircraft, underwent rigorous testing at Eglin Air Force Base, enduring temperatures ranging from -25°F to 110°F. This test evaluated the aircraft system’s performance, including propulsion, hydraulic, fuel, electrical, secondary power, environmental control, and overall operations in extreme environmental conditions. The aircraft has since returned to St. Louis for testing. Boeing and the Air Force conducted a dynamic sled test in February at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. The test focused on design enhancements in the Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, ACES 5 ejection seat and Pacific Scientific EMC’s canopy fracturing system to reduce the risk of injury. During the test, the team implemented variable timing to slow down the ejection seat, using the drogue chute and investigated canopy fracturing system patterns. The team is now preparing to move forward with the next round of development testing. #military #defense #defence #militaryleak https://lnkd.in/gutJwbuS

The Brazilian Army’s Logistics Command has made its decision on the self-propelled 155mm howitzers for the VBCOAP 155mm SR program. The chosen bidder is Elbit Systems Land, offering the Israeli ATMOS, a formidable artillery system that will be integrated onto Czech Tatra T815 6×6 trucks. The selection process was rigorous, with the Israeli ATMOS meeting and exceeding all requirements outlined by the Brazilian Army (Exército Brasileiro). This decision places Elbit Systems Land in a pivotal position, as its offering surpassed three other contenders in the bidding process. The Slovakian Zuzana 2 from Excalibur International emerged as the runner-up, followed by the French CAESAR from KNDS France in third place, and the Chinese SH15 from Norinco taking the fourth position.Under the VBCOAP 155 mm SR program, Brazil plans to procure a total of 36 artillery systems. The signing of the contract for the initial two howitzers is scheduled for May 7th. These first units will undergo rigorous technical and operational evaluations, with delivery expected within 12 months of contract signing. Upon successful completion of the evaluation phase, the Brazilian Army will proceed with the acquisition of the remaining 34 systems. The delivery of these additional units will occur incrementally, with completion anticipated by the year 2034. This phased approach ensures careful integration and deployment of the new artillery systems, bolstering Brazil’s defense capabilities for the foreseeable future. #military #defense #defence #militaryleak https://lnkd.in/gXRmqPUR

Morocco is intensifying its focus on bolstering its defense capabilities, with recent reports indicating a potential expansion of its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fleet through the acquisition of Israeli systems. Following its purchase of 150 WanderB and ThunderB UAVs from BlueBird in September 2022, the North African nation is now eyeing additional Israeli unmanned systems. The Zona Militar website has shed light on the evolving security ties between Morocco and Israel, revealing plans for BlueBird, an Israeli company, to initiate local production of UAVs. Ronen Nadir, CEO of BlueBird, confirmed this development, emphasizing the establishment of a production facility set to commence operations imminently. This move follows previous agreements between Israel and Morocco, including a landmark $500 million deal inked in February 2023 for the supply of Barak MX missile systems from Israel Aerospace Industries. Prior to this agreement, Morocco had already demonstrated its interest in Israeli defense technology by acquiring SkyLock Dome anti-drone systems in 2022. The prospective acquisition of additional Israeli UAVs underscores Morocco’s commitment to enhancing its aerial surveillance and combat capabilities. Of particular interest are BlueBird’s Spy X loitering munition systems, which offer advanced functionality and versatility in modern warfare scenarios. The collaboration between Morocco and Israel in the realm of unmanned systems signifies a significant milestone in their bilateral relations and underscores the growing importance of UAVs in contemporary military operations. #military #defense #defence #militaryleak https://lnkd.in/g82YYp7H
