Why You’ll Love This Starbucks Copycat

  • Cost-Effective:Let’s be real – buying these fancy drinks regularly can quickly add up. Making them at home is much more wallet-friendly.
  • Convenience:No need to leave the house or wait in line. You can whip up this delicious treat in your pajamas if you want!
  • Customization:You’re the boss in your kitchen! Adjust the sweetness, pick your favorite milk (dairy or non-dairy), and even toss in extra strawberries or a different fruit if you’re feeling adventurous.

I am a sucker for this homemade strawberries and cream frappuccino. Made with real berries and topped with a giant dollop of whipped cream, it doesn’t get much better! It tastes similar to a strawberry milkshake with a slightly thinner consistency. Still incredibly delicious and perfect to help cool down on a hot summer day.

It’s a delightful fusion of sweet, ripe strawberries and creamy, velvety milk, all blended to perfection with ice, creating a smooth and frosty texture. Each sip offers a harmonious balance of fruity sweetness and a subtle hint of vanilla, topped with a swirl of whipped cream that adds a luxurious richness. Truly, it’s a strawberry lover’s dream in liquid form!

Starbucks Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino Ingredients

To make this recipe you will need four simple ingredients. Blend them all together and top with whipped cream. The last part is optional, but well worth it! One of the best parts about this recipe is how easy it is to customize. It is extremely versatile. If you want a less milkshake creamy texture- add ice. Want to really indulge? Top with whipped cream and strawberry sauce!

  • Vanilla Ice Cream: We love to use Tillamook’s vanilla bean ice cream. It adds a vanilla filled creamy texture that is out of this world delicious and gives you the best results.
  • Milk: Ideally, you want to use whole milk. However, 2% will work in a pinch in this strawberry frappe.
  • Vanilla Extract: Vanilla adds a warm, rich, and slightly floral note that complements the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • Strawberries: For this recipe, we found that using frozen strawberries in syrup, that have been partially thawed, will deliver a bold berry flavor. That being said, you can definitely use fresh strawberries or frozen NOT in syrup. Substitute 8-10 medium sized berries that have been roughly chopped in place of the frozen.
  • Optional: Heavy whipping cream or canned whipped cream. This is a fun way to top your copycat Starbucks strawberry Frappuccino.

Strawberries And Cream Frap Recipe

Tip: For an Instagram-worthy presentation, drizzle some strawberry syrup inside the glass before pouring in the Frappuccino. It adds a lovely visual effect and a bit more strawberry zing!

  1. PREP: Gather all your ingredients. Make sure your strawberries are frozen for that perfect frappe consistency.
  2. BLEND: In a blender, combine the ice, frozen strawberries, milk, vanilla ice cream, and vanilla extract. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy. The goal is a thick, frosty texture without any large ice chunks.
  3. TASTE: In a blender, combine the ice, frozen strawberries, milk, vanilla ice cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy. The goal is a thick, frosty texture without any large ice chunks.
  4. ENJOY: Pour the blended mixture into a tall glass. Aim for a smooth, pourable consistency that’s still thick enough to support a straw. Top your Frappuccino with a generous swirl of whipped cream. For an extra pop of color and flavor, add a few fresh strawberry slices on top or on the rim of the glass.

Helpful Tools

  • Blender:The star of the show! A good blender is key for achieving that smooth, creamy texture. A high-power blender works best for crushing ice and blending frozen strawberries effortlessly.
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons:For precise measurements of ingredients like milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Getting the proportions right is crucial for the perfect taste and consistency.
  • Tall Glasses:For serving your Frappuccino. A tall, clear glass shows off the drink’s texture and layers beautifully.
  • Straws:A must for sipping your frosty beverage. Wide straws are better for thick drinks like Frappuccinos.

Recipe Notes:

Can I use fresh strawberries instead of frozen?

Yes, fresh strawberries can be used, but for a thicker, slushy-like consistency, add more ice to compensate for the lack of frozen fruit..

What if I don’t have vanilla extract?

While vanilla extract adds depth to the flavor, it can be omitted without drastically changing the taste. You can also use a splash of vanilla-flavored syrup if available.

Can I make this without a blender?

A blender is ideal for the right texture, but in a pinch, you can use a food processor. The texture might not be as smooth, though.

How can I make my Frappuccino less sweet?

You can also balance the sweetness with a pinch of salt or a bit more milk.

Can I add coffee to make it a caffeinated drink?

Absolutely! Add a shot of espresso or ½ cup of strong brewed coffee for a caffeine kick.

How long can I store the leftover Frappuccino?

It’s best enjoyed immediately. However, you can store it in the fridge for up to a day. The texture might change slightly, so give it a good stir before drinking.

Can I add protein powder to make it a post-workout drink?

Yes, you can. Add a scoop of your preferred protein powder when blending. Vanilla or a neutral flavor works best.

Notes

  • Want to add ice but don’t want to take away the creamy texture? Try freezing milk in your ice cube trays.
