Cheese Beer Bread contains only 6 ingredients and is an easy no yeast bread recipe! In less than an hour you have a warm homemade quick bread that goes perfect with stews, soup or chili.

Oh, homemade bread, how I love you!

But I don't love the wait. There is mixing, kneading and lots of rising time. Then there are quick bread recipes like this one. You only need an hour to get your bread fix. And you probably have the ingredients for this Cheese Beer Bread Recipe already in your kitchen.

What ingredients are needed for Cheese Beer Bread?

  • honey

  • cheese

The ingredients in this no yeast bread recipe are very basic. They can also be varied. This time I made it with white flour but you can use whole wheat flour too. I used cheddar cheese but any type of cheese can be used and dried herbs are great added to the batter if you desire.

This is a recipe where you can use your favorite beer that you would usually drink. I don't like to admit this but I used Miller Lite. Miller Lite is not my favorite but we have friends that drink it so I always have a few bottles in my fridge. The beer worked fine. Next time, I would love to try a fancy ale to see how it changes the flavors in this beer bread recipe.

What size loaf does this quick bread recipe make?

The cuteness factor got the better of me and I used my mini loaf pan for these loaves. I made three loaves but this can be baked as one big loaf also. The mini loaves take about 35 to 45 minutes to bake while one large loaf takes about an hour.

I do like mini loaves because you can use one or two and freeze the other for another time. Either way, this beer bread recipe makes some great loaves to eat.

How do you store this no yeast bread?

This cheesy beer bread recipe will stay fresh for several days if stored at room temperature in an air tight plastic bag. Wrapping it in plastic wrap insures that no air will get in. It can also be frozen for up to a month as long as it's tightly wrapped.

Cheese Beer Bread

This cheesy beer bread can be made as a large loaf or several mini loaves. There is no yeast required to make this quick bread.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups white flour
  • 1 TBS baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces beer
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese divided (reserve ½ cup for top of bread)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well. Stir in the beer, honey and 1 ½ cup of cheddar cheese. Combine the sticky mixture. Pour the batter into 3 lightly greased small loaf pans. (For 1 large loaf see notes below.) Sprinkle with the remaining half a cup of cheese. Bake for about 35 to 45 minutes or until toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Cool for at least 15 minutes before removing from the pan. Cool for another 10 minutes on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

For a large loaf, this bread should be baked for 50 to 60 minutes and batter should be put in a large loaf pan.

    This is So easy to make I didn’t have baking powder so I had to substituteits and I used corona beer, The hardest part was waiting for it to cool!! It is delicious! Definitely going to make it again
